Orton-Gillingham Therapy for Literacy Instruction & Dyslexia
Multisensory Phonics Instruction
The Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach is a language-based, multisensory, structured, and cumulative method designed to help students build a strong foundation in literacy and become confident, capable readers and writers. Backed by decades of research and proven success, OG has consistently helped students overcome reading and spelling challenges.
Each OG session is both diagnostic and prescriptive—carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of the student. Lessons follow a highly structured format, focusing on the development of decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) skills.
What sets OG apart is its explicit, systematic instruction that engages multiple learning pathways—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—to reinforce concepts and support long-term retention. Originally developed for individuals with dyslexia, OG is effective for a wide range of language-based learning differences and for any student who benefits from intensive, structured literacy instruction.
