Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Services are private pay. Superbills with CPT and ICD-10 codes are available for families to submit to insurance companies for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage depends on the individual plan and is not guaranteed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is due at the time of service and may be made by cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, or any major credit card—including FSA and HSA cards.

What is your cancellation policy?

No-shows are charged the full session fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Exceptions may be made for emergencies or illness if canceled before 9:00 a.m. on the day of the session.

How do I get started?

Consultations can be scheduled through the website, by phone, or by email. Assessments are booked through a secure, HIPAA-compliant patient portal.

What’s the difference between an SLP with Orton-Gillingham training and a literacy tutor?

An SLP with OG training is a licensed medical professional who understands speech and language development as well as structured literacy intervention. This background makes it possible to identify and treat reading and spelling struggles along with speech, language, and phonological difficulties through a customized plan. A literacy tutor supports reading and spelling but cannot diagnose or treat underlying speech and language disorders, and tutoring services are not covered by insurance.

Do you offer virtual/teletherapy sessions?

Yes. In-person and teletherapy sessions are available for New Jersey residents, offering flexibility and accessibility.

What are your qualifications?

I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with three years of specialized training from the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.

What ages do you serve?

Therapy is available for school-aged students and adults. Each plan of care is individualized based on reading, spelling, and speech/language needs.

Can you help with both speech and literacy?

Yes. Both speech-language therapy and literacy intervention are offered, tailored to meet individual communication and academic goals.

When can I start therapy?

Therapy can begin within the same week as a full evaluation. Evaluations are completed within two weeks, and a plan of care is prepared within three days so treatment can start without delay.
